Job Description
About Us:
At Kooth, our mission is to create welcoming, accessible spaces for personalized digital mental health care that empowers young people to thrive. Grounded in an early-intervention model, we help youth aged 13-25 build resilience, access timely support, and lead fulfilling lives. We are more than a digital service - we are a movement for inclusive, evidence-informed mental health care.
Our culture is rooted in our values: Alongside You, Flexible, Compassionate, Committed, and Safe. These guide everything we do - how we show up for young people, how we collaborate as a team, and how we build solutions that meet communities where they are. With Kooth, you'll be part of something bigger than yourself: meaningful work with measurable impact.
We bring this mission to life through Soluna, California's first-in-the-nation digital behavioral health service for 13-25-year-olds. Soluna removes barriers to care by providing nearly immediate access to 1:1 coaching, Care Navigation, and self-guided tools helping young people find real support, build resilience, and discover hope when they need it most. Together with state and local partners, we're transforming access to mental health support for youth. Learn more at solunaapp.com/impact.

- Partner with the Talent team to coordinate a smooth transition from offer acceptance through onboarding, ensuring accurate information and timely communication.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, employment eligibility verification, and required documentation, in line with established processes.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and work with managers and key stakeholders to tailor onboarding to each colleague's role and needs.
- Assign and track onboarding and other required training through our HRIS (Rippling) and LMS (Litmos) platforms, following up to ensure completion by established deadlines.
Help employees navigate benefits and leave
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life event changes, records, and open enrollment activities.
- Work with benefits carriers, providers, and the People team to resolve questions and issues, providing clear, timely support to colleagues.
- Monitor benefits information in the HRIS, troubleshoot discrepancies, and coordinate updates to maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate leave administration, ensuring requests, documentation, and HRIS updates are processed accurately and on time.
- Support payroll-related inquiries and employee changes, partnering with the appropriate teams to resolve issues.
Keep People Operations accurate and dependable
- Maintain complete, accurate employee records in the HRIS and designated document systems, protecting confidential information.
- Process employee changes and keep trackers, documentation, and workflows up to date.
- Coordinate offboarding activities, including exit interviews, employee communications, and records updates; support termination meetings alongside the appropriate People team member.
- Support responses to unemployment claims and preparation for hearings, in partnership with the People team.
- Identify opportunities to simplify administrative processes, improve data quality, and strengthen the employee experience.
Support consistent policies and compliant practices
- Help employees and managers understand and apply Kooth's policies, benefits, and People processes.
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements, including wage and hour rules, employment eligibility documentation, and required labor law notices.
- Recognize sensitive or complex employee matters and escalate them promptly to the appropriate People team member.
- Stay current on relevant HR practices and employment requirements, sharing updates and recommendations with the team.
