Job Description

The Atria Health Institute is a membership-based primary and specialty health care practice with a focus on prevention and longevity. We bring together a multidisciplinary team of renowned physicians to provide proactive, preventive, and precision-based care for Atria members and their families. All care, including primary care, advanced screening and diagnostics, urgent care, specialty care, home visits, and imaging is included in members’ annual fee.

Our mission is to make healthspan and lifespan equal for all by translating science into medicine in real-time, all while bringing humanity back into health care. Delivering such robust, personalized, and preventive health care is complex and requires a team-wide dedication to excellence.

After successfully opening our flagship Institute in New York in 2022 and expanding to South Florida in 2024, we are now bringing the Atria experience to the West Coast. This opening is to support our NYC institute.

As a per diem medical assistant at Atria, you will provide personalized, exceptional health care to our members on an as-needed basis. Per diem medical assistants provide coverage for planned absences, vacations, and periods of higher member volume, and are expected to step into our clinical workflow quickly and confidently. Shifts are offered based on Institute needs and your stated availability, and are confirmed in advance.

What you'll do

  • Perform assigned lab tests, EKGs, and point-of-care testing such as rapid covid, flu, and strep testing
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and exam rooms between use, and maintain the autoclave
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, including checking expiration dates
  • Flexibility to perform administrative and clerical tasks related to clinical practice as needed
  • Communicate with primary care and specialty clinical staff in a team-based model of care, using appropriate medical terminology
  • Practice OSHA safety standards and uphold HIPAA regulations
  • Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation and appropriate maintenance of medical records for members
  • Be punctual and dependable for all accepted and confirmed shifts, respond promptly to shift requests, and keep your availability current
  • Complete initial orientation and required training before your first independent shift

Compensation: $39.00/hour

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution; certification preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience as a practicing Medical Assistant with regular experience in phlebotomy; prior per diem, float, or agency experience is a plus
  • Ability to reliably commute to the NYC institute for scheduled shifts
  • Comfortable working independently and adapting quickly to a new clinical environment
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment

Benefits

Per diem team members receive:

  • Competitive hourly compensation
  • Paid sick and safe leave in accordance with New York State and New York City law
