Job Description
As a Performance Engineer for our Retail Media Network, you'll help keep a high‑volume, multicloud AdTech platform running fast, smooth, and reliable. Your work will make a direct impact by uncovering bottlenecks, shaping performance baselines, and making sure our systems stay calm under pressure. If you love solving complex problems across distributed systems and enjoy building observability into everything, this role will feel like a great fit. This position follows a hybrid model based in Richfield, MN.
What you'll do
- Design and run performance tests across AWS and GCP to measure latency, throughput, and stability
- Build dashboards that bring system behavior to life using tools like Dynatrace, Grafana, and Kibana
- Analyze distributed systems to find root causes of slowdowns and cross‑cloud performance friction
- Forecast capacity needs using load test results, historical data, and usage patterns
- Add automated performance tests to CI/CD pipelines to catch issues early
- Work with DevOps and SRE teams to fine‑tune Kubernetes workloads and improve efficiency
Basic qualifications
- 3 years of experience in Performance Engineering
- 2 years of hands-on experience with observability and telemetry tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, and Kibana
- 2 years working with cloud infrastructure in AWS or GCP, including Kubernetes environments (EKS and/or GKE)
- 1 year of experience using modern load‑testing tools such as k6, Locust, or JMeter in distributed or containerized environments
- 1 year of experience independently building and operationalizing performance testing environments in AWS
- 1 year of experience analyzing large datasets from logs, metrics, and traces to identify anomalies and performance trends
- 1 year of hands-on experience performing Linux-based performance diagnostics, including CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network analysis
Preferred qualifications
- 1 year of experience troubleshooting or testing connectivity and data latency across multiple cloud providers
- 1 year of experience using Terraform to review, adjust, or optimize infrastructure parameters during performance testing
- 1 year of experience evaluating performance characteristics of AI/ML workloads (e.g., Vertex AI, BigQuery, or similar)
- 1 year of scripting or automation experience using Python, Go, or Bash to streamline performance analysis workflows
- 1 year of experience working in Retail Media, AdTech, or other high‑concurrency, low‑latency environments where performance directly impacts revenue
