Perinatal / Reproductive Psychiatrist
Greenville, North Carolina
An academic Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Perinatal/Reproductive Psychiatrist to join a growing clinical and academic program. Candidates should have completed a Psychiatry or Obstetrics & Gynecology residency, along with fellowship training in reproductive or perinatal psychiatry.New graduates are encouraged to apply.
A newly opened 144-bed behavioral health hospital enhances inpatient and consultative psychiatric services, supporting comprehensive care across the perinatal continuum.

Opportunity Highlights include:
- Employment within an academic physician practice model
- Hospital privileges at a large academic medical center, an affiliated children’s hospital, and a behavioral health hospital

- Balanced role combining clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity
- Inpatient services include psychiatric consultation for:
- Emergency department
- Labor and delivery unit
- Behavioral health inpatient unit
- Outpatient services include care provided in:
- Behavioral health clinics
- Obstetrics and gynecology clinics
- Focus on prenatal and perinatal patient populations
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule
- Phone-only call for nights and weekends, with residents taking first call
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment including:
- OB/GYN addiction-trained liaison
- Integrated consultation and medication management for labor and delivery and OB/GYN clinics
Requirements
Education & Training
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency or Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency
- Fellowship training in Perinatal Psychiatry, Reproductive Psychiatry, or Women’s Mental Health
- New graduates encouraged to apply
Certification & Licensure
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (or OB/GYN with specialized psychiatric fellowship training, as applicable)
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical license
- Eligible for hospital privileges
