Personal Injury & Medical Malpractice Associate Attorneyfor a Law Firm
Compensation: Option 1: $90,000 base salary + 5% commission (target OTE ~$150,000). Option 2: $120,000–$125,000 straight salary (no commission). Position Description:
We have an extraordinary opportunity for a motivated and experienced Personal Injury & Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney for our Law Office in Valley Stream, NY. The firm operates in a high-energy, collaborative environment and is supported by a strong domestic legal team and a well-established overseas administrative staff. With ambitious growth plans, including expanding its attorney team significantly this year, the firm emphasizes creative litigation strategies, strong advocacy, and a team-first culture while providing operational support that allows attorneys to focus on high-value legal work.
Qualifications for Personal Injury & Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney :
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
- 1–3 years of litigation experience, including at least 1–2 years focused on plaintiff personal injury and/or medical malpractice matters.
- Proven ability to independently manage litigation files, take ownership of cases, and execute key legal tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills with the ability to develop strategic and creative arguments to maximize case outcomes.
Responsibilities for Personal Injury & Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney:
- Manage personal injury and medical malpractice litigation files from case initiation through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare litigation documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, discovery demands, and responses.
- Participate in depositions, court conferences, negotiations, and other legal proceedings appropriate to experience level.
- Work collaboratively with firm partners and the overseas administrative team to ensure cases progress efficiently and remain trial-ready.
