Job Description

This isn’t a “box gym” job – it’s high-level training in an integrated health environment.

  • Do you bring an energy that elevates the room without needing to be the loudest voice in it?
  • Are you genuinely passionate about health, fitness, and strength training and committed to coaching it the right way?
  • Do you genuinely love connecting with people and coaching them through consistency and knowledge, not just motivation?
  • Do you enjoy educating clients because you know the “why” matters just as much as the “how”?

If this sounds like you, keep reading…

About the Role

The Personal Trainer- Rehab Fitness Specialist role is perfect for someone who:

  • Loves collaboration (you’ll work closely with our DPTs and clinical team)
  • Understands that training is not one-size-fits-all
  • Can coach strength and functional training while respecting injuries, limitations, and long-term goals

You’ll be responsible for delivering thoughtful, customized training programs that align with physical therapy plans and medical guidance - all while creating a welcoming, encouraging experience for our clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Train clients 1:1 and in small groups using individualized and customized programs
  • Collaborate with Doctors of Physical Therapy to support client progress with respect to past injury and medical history.
  • Help clients to safely initiate or return to exercise without having to fear injury, re-aggravation, or plateaus/lack of outcomes.
  • Develop meaningful training plans based around the emotional drivers and big goals of our clients.
  • Coach proper movement patterns, strength progressions, and injury-aware training with an emphasis on movement and health education.
  • Communicate clearly with the care team about client performance and feedback
  • Create a motivating, safe, and judgment-free training environment
  • Support clinic goals while always prioritizing client care and outcomes

Who We’re Looking For

Any of the following criteria and prior experience could be applicable for this position:

  • Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, CSCS, or equivalent)
  • Degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology
  • Experience working with clients who have injuries, limitations, or are post-PT (preferred)
  • Strong personal experience in weight lifting and strength training

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Strong understanding of biomechanics and movement quality
  • Coach-first mindset - empathetic, professional, and encouraging
  • Comfortable collaborating with medical professionals
  • Reliable, communicative, and growth-oriented
  • Aligns with our brand and culture, embodying our Three E’s: Energy, Education and Engagement

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Opportunity to represent and contribute to a brand associated with changing lives and having a tremendous and direct positive impact in our own community.
  • Supportive, tight-knit team that actually communicates
  • Clients who are invested, respectful, and motivated
  • No pressure to “sell at all costs” - we lead with education and trust
  • Opportunity to grow professionally in an integrated and modern healthcare setting
  • Work with Doctors of Physical Therapy — not against protocols

This Role Is Not For You If

  • You don’t enjoy working directly with people.
  • You lack excitement and enthusiasm for exercise, wellness, and personal growth
  • You prefer generic workouts or high-volume, high-ego gym culture
  • You’re uncomfortable adapting exercises for injuries or limitations
  • You don’t enjoy collaboration or feedback
