Job Description
Position Summary:Provides accurate assistance in filling orders, performing clerical duties, and maintaining inventory.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Assists and serves patients, including accepting prescriptions and obtaining pertinent information from patients.Input patients and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system to process prescriptions and maintain patient profiles.Assists in the billing and adjudication of prescription claims.Stocks shelves and bins with merchandise, vials, bottles, and supples.Assists in the preparation of reports and written documentation, as required by the department, company, state and federal agencies.Assists Pharmacists as directed.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops.Attends meetings as required and participates in committees as requested.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job RequirementsEducation Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Required:
6 months to 1 year of experience in retail pharmacy.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job:
Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:
Excellent knowledge of Medical terminology
Equipment Used:
Computer and pharmacy software.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Prolonged standingConstant walking and occasional lifting of supplies and equipment.Detail orientedSuperb organizational ability and exceptional analytical skills.May be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
Universal Requirements:Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs. Compliance with all mandated vaccinations and all boosters is a term and condition of employment.
