GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of CPO the Pharmacy Home Delivery Driver will drive vehicle over established route to deliver prescriptions and other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Full Time and a Part Time Candidate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides quality service to all patients and/or customers
  • Follows company dress code that includes the driver's nametag
  • Provides accurate deliveries to the correct patient and the correct address
  • Drives vehicle to deliver prescriptions/merchandise to customers' homes or places of business in a timely and safe manner
  • Makes deliveries in accordance with Company delivery policies
  • Loads vehicle prior to delivery in route order
  • Records delivery information on daily sales or delivery record
  • Follows company policy and procedure when returning medications to the pharmacy
  • Listens to and relays patient requests and complaints to the Pharmacist on Duty in a timely manner
  • Obtains customer signature on receipt for delivery when required with required delivery tracking software
  • Cleans interior and exterior of vehicle as well as maintaining the vehicle maintenance
  • Maintains favorable driving record in accordance with company's insurance carrier requirements
  • Applies courteous driving standards at all times and follows all traffic laws
  • Provides attempted delivery tickets at patient's residence if the patient, or someone who can accept the medication on behalf of the patient, is not at the residence at the time of delivery
  • Collects money and reconciles the delivery tickets according to company policy
  • Takes the bank deposit in a timely manner and returns the deposited receipt to the pharmacy
  • Attends quarterly store meetings and training sessions as requested
  • Completes and accepts responsibility for all Corporate Training Programs
  • Follows HIPAA, FWA, Corporate Compliance and all applicable state and Federal laws
  • Performs in accordance with company policies and standards, as well as the spirit of the company's core values and goals
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Directly supervised by Director of Pharmacy

  • Works in cooperation with staff and effectively serves customers

In addition, this position requires:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • Preferred, but not required

Licensure and Certification:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Driving record must meet insurance underwriting requirements

Skills:

  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Proficient in use of computer and pharmacy delivery technology
  • Able to efficiently and accurately conduct payment transactions, including making correct change for cash payments
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to manage self and environment calmly and appropriately in stressful situations

Physical Abilities:

  • Able to push, pull, reach, sit, stoop, and stretch
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Have full range of body motion
  • Required to talk and hear
  • Vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Wear protective equipment when required
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

Work Environment:

This position involves exposure to customer/patient elements. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
