Job Description:

Location: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. The ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance from our PulsePoint locations.

The Pharmacy Intern will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.

How you will make an impact:

  • Assists in developing and configuring prior authorization decision trees in the workflow tool
  • Participates in quality assurance feedback from pharmacists of prior authorization decision trees within the workflow tool
  • Assists in implementing clinical programs within the prior authorization space
  • Verifies member, provider, and drug information and inputs data for the prior authorization pharmacists.
  • Educates providers on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.
  • Processes prior authorization requests from physicians' offices and ensures compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements; inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.

Minimum requirements:

  • Ability to work 20 per week for the duration of the internship
  • Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university.
  • A current, active, unrestricted Pharmacist Intern license in applicable state(s) required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • 1st and 2nd year PharmD students are preferred.
  • Prior experience working in pharmacy retail strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills
  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills
