Pharmacy Intern

What You'll Do:

• Assists pharmacist in preparing drugs for dispensing (e.g. appropriate product selection, labeling, compounding, and repackaging with completion of appropriate records, etc.)
• Maintains an accurate computer profile for each patient receiving medications within the institution according to department and hospital policies and procedures.
• Prepares drugs for automated dispensing to be checked by a pharmacist, restocks automated dispensing equipment, assists with monitoring automated dispensing equipment and maintaining this equipment in good working order.
• Prepares intravenous admixtures and other sterile products including parenteral nutrition solutions, chemotherapy, and irrigation solutions under the direction and supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assists with management of drug stock (e.g. shelves new drug stock with proper rotation of items, arranges stock and organizes storage areas, documents for ordering items, etc.)
• Ensures drugs items are appropriately billed to various areas or patients through appropriate written documentation and/or computerized entry.

What You'll Bring/Requirements:

• Completion of high school education, or equivalent, and current licensure with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern. Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to relate to other people and work well in a group environment

• Must maintain licensure by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern; American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support recommended.
