This position offers an excellent opportunity to merge your expertise in insurance billing and revenue cycle management with meaningful patient interaction, ensuring smoother access to medications and healthcare services.OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Patient Financial Advocate to join our team at the University of Kansas - Southlake Campus. This role involves managing prior authorizations, assisting with medication assistance programs, and coordinating with insurance companies to optimize patient benefits. Serving as a key liaison between patients, pharmacies, and insurance providers, you'll ensure that patients receive the medications they need without unnecessary financial barriers. This is an onsite position with intensive training, with the potential to transition into a hybrid work environment after successful onboarding.Required Skills

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in insurance billing, revenue cycle management, and prior authorization processes.
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records is highly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated professionalism and consistent work history.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have Skills

• Pharmacy technician license or certification.
• Experience with medication assistance programs or grant funding applications.
• Knowledge of insurance policies and pharmaceutical billing procedures.
• Customer service experience in healthcare settings.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School diploma with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• OR an Associate’s degree in a related field with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience working with EPIC is a significant plus.

Other Requirements

• Onsite orientation at KU main campus every Monday and Tuesday.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch.
• No weekend, on-call, or holiday shifts required.
• Must complete credentials one week prior to start.
• Willingness to comply with nicotine-free workplace policies.
• Willing to submit required documentation and certifications as needed.
