We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Patient Financial Advocate to play a vital role in supporting patient care through effective financial communication and administrative excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare environment, ensuring patients receive the support they need while maintaining smooth pharmacy operations.Key Responsibilities:

• Submit prior authorization requests for prescriptions and specialty medications.
• Complete medication assistance and grant funding applications for patients.
• Contact insurance companies for claim status updates and approvals.
• Pull chart notes from EPIC electronic health records.
• Assist patients with insurance-related queries and financial programs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all interactions.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance billing, revenue cycle management, and prior authorizations.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with professional and courteous client interactions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Pharmacy technician license or certification.
• Experience with specialty medications or pharmacy billing processes.
• Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School diploma with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• OR an Associate’s degree in a related field plus 1 year of relevant experience.
• Consistent work history demonstrating professionalism.

Other Requirements:

• Location: Onsite at University of Kansas - Southlake Campus for 3 months during training, with potential for hybrid work afterward.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch.
• No weekend, on-call, or holiday shifts required.
• Orientation at KU main campus every Monday and Tuesday.
• Willingness to adhere to nicotine-free environment.
• Temporary position with possible transition to permanent employment.
• Bi-weekly pay rate starting at $35/hour before administrative fees.
• Onsite work during training; flexible arrangements post-training.
