Job Summary
Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.
Example of Essential Functions:
- Conducts practice-related investigations and develops skills in educating health professionals and the community.
- S/he demonstrates the ability to function effectively as a staff pharmacist, meeting the same standards of performance, duties and functions as are required of the staff pharmacists.
- Participates in planned clinical oriented functions and learning experiences with program emphasis on developing clinical proficiency.
- Work is performed under direction of the Residency Program Director and other preceptors and is reviewed through oral examination, case record audits, direct observation of the resident's performance, and in consultation with other staff members.
- S/he participates in the daily activities of pharmacy operations; studies pertinent literature; reviews cases of patients with special problems and prepares case reports; performs formulary management (new drug reviews, drug monograph write-ups, etc.) and drug information research.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with pharmacy staff, physicians, nurses and patients. Meets requirements set forth by the American Society of Health-system Pharmacist's (ASHP).
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Maryland Pharmacist license required by January 1 of the following year; preferred by October 1.
- Pharmacists pending Maryland licensure must work under the supervision of a Maryland Licensed pharmacist and cannot perform pharmacist acts until licensed.
- BLS, ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
- Pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
Patient Contact
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups:
- X Neonate (0 thru 30 days)
- X_ Infant (31 thru 12 months)
- X Child (13 months thru 12 years)
- X Adolescent (13 years thru 17 years)
- X Adult (18 years thru 65 years)
- X Geriatric (66+ years)
Physical Demands:
Light Work - Lifting up to 20 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes and/or carrying up to 10 pounds, or requiring walking or standing to a significant degree (about six [6] hours a day).
Ergonomic Risk Factors:
Repetition: Repeating the same motion over and over again places stress on the muscles and tendons. The severity of risk depends on how often the action is repeated, the speed of the movement, the required force and muscles involved.
Working Conditions:
Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Risk: Category A - WILL have exposure to blood or body fluids.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Salary: $52,416.00
