Overview
Job Description
Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi-site mission-driven non-profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.
GLFHC is seeking a service oriented Pharmacy Resident to join our team. This is a joint position in affiliation with MCPHS University. The GLFHC/MCPHS University Post-Graduate Year 1 pharmacy residency program will provide an in-depth experience in ambulatory care pharmacy practice focusing on core areas commonly seen in low-income, urban health centers. Each Learning Experience (LE) will have a main preceptor who will maintain oversight of that LE throughout the course of the residency; the residency program director is responsible for overseeing the program.
The utilization of longitudinal learning experiences will provide the Pharmacy Resident the ability to build specific knowledge and skill sets while giving a realistic view of ambulatory care practice. It will prepare the resident to be a highly skilled, confident, and compassionate provider of clinical pharmacy services in an interdisciplinary team offering comprehensive patient care; therefore, increasing patient access to healthcare services, improving health outcomes, minimizing education errors, and reducing healthcare costs.
