The Supervisor, Pharmacy is responsible for coordinating pharmacy services and ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal clinical services on a daily basis. Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through safe and cost-effective drug therapies. Assists leadership with the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives in accordance with the hospital's philosophy and mission.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Supervises and leads the provision of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy services.
- Serves as the liaison to coordinate compliance and regulatory issues for areas of responsibility.
- Identifies opportunities to redesign systems of oversight to maximize performance (i.e., labor and operational efficiency).
- Conducts competency assessments, observes and reviews pharmacist and technician compounding techniques, and coordinates/evaluates media fill.
- Coordinates and oversees all aspects of pharmacy services quality assurance program. Maintains all records and reports in compliance with regulations.
- Serves as a pharmacy team liaison to interdisciplinary team members for areas of responsibility (i.e., Nurse managers, medical directors, clinic leadership, informatics teams, etc.). Participates as a member of pharmacy department in multidisciplinary team and committees.
- Leads initiatives to identify gaps in training knowledge and areas for improvement.
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: 3 years of experience in Pharmacy settings or PGY1 or PGY2/ PGY2 in area of oversight Pharmacist-in-Charge responsibilities. (CHNOLA/NOEH/UMC/EJGH)
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (CHNOLA)
- Required: Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy (CHNOLA/EJGH)
