Pharmacy Technician - FCS Pharmacy

Competitive Pay | Full Benefits | Up to 35 Paid Days Off Your First Year

Love pharmacy, but want your life back?

At Family & Children's Services Pharmacy, you can build a rewarding pharmacy career without sacrificing your life outside of work. Enjoy no weekends, no holidays, no late-night closes, full benefits, and up to 35 paid days off in your first year.

You'll join a busy, team-focused nonprofit behavioral health pharmacy where your work has a real purpose: helping clients overcome barriers and get the medications they need.

Great benefits. Better balance. Meaningful work.

What Makes FCS Pharmacy Different?

This isn't your typical retail pharmacy.

Our pharmacy is an important part of the client's overall care team. We work closely with prescribers, nurses, case managers, insurance plans, patient assistance programs, and other FCS programs to help clients access their medications.

Our technicians rotate through 10 different pharmacy stations, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad range of pharmacy skills and keeping your workday varied.

We are looking for someone who can work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while also bringing compassion, critical thinking, and a team-first attitude to work every day.

What You'll Do

Help Clients Access Their Medications

You'll do more than count pills. Our technicians actively help solve problems that might otherwise prevent clients from receiving treatment.

You will:

  • Process new and refill prescriptions accurately and efficiently
  • Enter prescriptions received electronically, by fax, transfer, or written prescription
  • Process insurance claims and troubleshoot billing rejections
  • Assist with prior authorizations and quantity-limit overrides
  • Search for insurance coverage and enter billing information accurately
  • Identify medication-access barriers and connect clients with available resources
  • Refer appropriate clients to our Patient Assistance Program (PAP)
  • Proactively communicate with clients when prescriptions are delayed
  • Assist with medication delivery preparation and coordination
  • Recognize situations requiring pharmacist intervention, counseling, or Drug Utilization Review

Communicate & Deliver Excellent Service

Strong communication is essential to this position. You'll interact with clients and members of the care team throughout the day.

You will:

  • Provide friendly, professional service in person and by phone
  • Communicate with nurses, providers, case managers, and other FCS staff
  • Keep the care team informed when prescription issues could delay treatment
  • Document prescription and patient-profile notes clearly and accurately
  • Respond to internal communications in a timely manner
  • Assist clients with questions and concerns
  • Recognize when difficult situations should be escalated to a pharmacist or supervisor
  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times

Work Accurately & Efficiently

Pharmacy is all about the details. You'll be expected to:

  • Select the correct medication and quantity for pharmacist verification
  • Maintain accurate patient, prescription, and insurance information
  • Follow established procedures for prescription processing and preparation
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Complete assigned responsibilities within expected timeframes
  • Stay focused at your assigned station while adapting to changing workflow needs
  • Anticipate potential problems and communicate concerns before they cause delays

Be Part of the Team

We rely on one another to keep a high-volume pharmacy running smoothly.

Successful technicians:

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude
  • Step in to help teammates when workflow demands it
  • Give and receive constructive feedback appropriately
  • Communicate openly when they need assistance
  • Take ownership of their responsibilities
  • Look for solutions before simply passing a problem to someone else
  • Adapt as priorities and workflow change throughout the day
  • Are dependable, punctual, and ready to contribute

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

Detail-oriented. Accuracy matters, and you notice the small things.

A problem solver. When something rejects or doesn't make sense, your first instinct is to investigate.

A strong communicator. You can communicate professionally with clients, coworkers, providers, and insurance representatives.

Compassionate. Many of our clients face significant barriers to care. You treat every person with dignity and respect.

Dependable. Your team can count on you to be present, prepared, and engaged.

A team player. You understand that when the pharmacy gets busy, everyone works together.

Adaptable. You're comfortable learning different responsibilities and rotating among multiple pharmacy stations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician permit
  • Must complete or have satisfactorily completed pharmacy technician training as required by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, coworkers, healthcare professionals, and third-party payers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with pharmacy policies and applicable state and federal requirements

Why Join FCS Pharmacy?

You don't have to choose between a pharmacy career you enjoy and a life outside of work.

At FCS Pharmacy, you'll have the opportunity to expand your pharmacy skills, work alongside a dedicated team, and directly contribute to better outcomes for people receiving behavioral health services in our community.

And you'll do it in an environment that recognizes that your time away from work matters, too.

Competitive pay. Full benefits. Up to 35 paid days off your first year. No weekends. No holidays. Meaningful work.
