Job Description
Duration: 6 months contractPosition Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role involves handling inbound calls from members and providers, assisting with prior authorizations, prescription processing, data entry, and supporting walk-in patients. Candidates should possess excellent customer service skills, strong computer proficiency, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls from members, providers, and patients while delivering professional customer support.
- Transfer clinical inquiries and judgment-related questions to the pharmacist.
- Assist with the prior authorization process and maintain accurate documentation of approvals and denials.
- Perform prescription data entry, medication filling, and shipping coordination.
- Support walk-in patients and assist with additional pharmacy functions as directed by site leadership.
- Maintain timely and accurate records in accordance with pharmacy and compliance standards.
- Utilize pharmacy systems, spreadsheets, and word processing applications effectively.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience in an administrative or customer support environment.
- At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume call center or customer service setting, preferably within healthcare or social services.
- Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician License or eligibility for state registration/licensure.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal).
- Advanced computer and data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
- Experience with prior authorizations and prescription processing.
- Familiarity with healthcare or specialty pharmacy operations.
