Job Position: Pharmacy Technician- Refill TechLocation: Philadelphia, PA 19104Position Type: Contract to permShift: 8: 00 AM - 5: 00 PMTerms: 13 WeeksDescription:Birch Agency is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our teamThe Pharmacy Refill Technician supports pharmacy operations by processing prescription refill requests, coordinating with patients and providers, and ensuring timely medication dispensing. This role focuses on refill workflows, prescription accuracy, and customer service while maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety standards.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process prescription refill requests received by phone, electronic system, or in person.
- Review refill eligibility and verify prescription information for accuracy.
- Communicate with physicians offices for refill authorizations when required.
- Enter and update prescription information in the pharmacy management system.
- Prepare refill prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
- Contact patients regarding refill status, pickup times, and insurance issues.
- Verify patient demographics, allergies, and insurance information.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Resolve basic refill-related issues and escalate complex concerns to the pharmacist.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking medications as needed.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and pharmacy policies for confidentiality and safety.
