Job Description
The Home Infusion/Specialty Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring accurate and timely medication preparation and delivery. Process new and refill prescriptions, manage inventory (stocking, auditing, and checking for expiration), and clean/sanitize the pharmacy area. Utilize pharmacy software (CPR+, NewLeaf, Epic, OneTrack, and TherigySTM) for documentation, inventory control, and patient management.Illinois Pharmacy Technician RequirementsInitial Hire: Must submit proof of your IDFPR application on your hire date to qualify for a 60-day grace period to obtain your license. Certification: If licensed after December 31, 2007, you must become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through either PTCB or NHA within two (2) years of receiving your license.Student Pharmacists: Anyone enrolled in a first professional degree program in pharmacy and designated as a "Student Pharmacist" by the IDFPR is exempt from these requirements. Purchasing & Inventory: assists in the coordination and completion of the annual inventory.Pharmacy Operations: Enters and processes new prescriptions/refills; monitors and maintains inventory; Maintains accurate clinical records; Ensures the clean room, warehouse, and equipment are maintained per policy; Billing & Quality Control: Performs billing functions (patient, nursing unit, controlled substances); performs/records quality control activities.updates drug prices under pharmacist supervision.Answers telephones, takes messages, and directs calls to appropriate personnel.The place where growth meets balance – and opportunities meet flexibility.
