Qualifications Certifications:
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of license application – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- HS Diploma/GED
- Preferred Pharmacy Tech Exp
- Assists pharmacists under direct supervision to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to a diverse patient population.
- Executes technical pharmacy tasks , including the accurate filling, compounding, reconstitution, and labeling of medications.
- Performs complex pharmaceutical calculations to ensure precise prescription input and safe dispensing.
- Maintains quality assurance through rigorous stock rotation, expiration monitoring, and organized inventory management.
- Manages patient profiles by accurately entering demographic data, allergy history, and insurance information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Processes prescription orders with high attention to detail, verifying medication strength, route, refill counts, and provider credentials.
- Navigates insurance complexities , including facilitating prior authorizations, performing reversals, and resolving advanced provider inquiries.
- Utilizes specialized equipment such as point-of-sale (POS) systems, automated pill counters, and vendor-specific software.
- Prioritizes workflow to ensure urgent prescriptions are filled efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Upholds safety standards by verifying patient identity per protocol and ensuring every patient is offered pharmacist counseling.
- Resolves service requests via phone and in-person, providing professional assistance or redirecting inquiries to the appropriate department.
- Contributes to department growth by participating in quality monitoring and recommending initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $18.89per hour - $30.6per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
