Certified Pharmacy Technician

Duties

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists including compounded medications and IV infusions.
  • Assist with medication dispensing for home infusion patients utilizing appropriate software systems.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during sterile compounding processes to ensure patient safety in IV infusion and critical care environments.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions, coordinating medication administration schedules, and supporting patient care initiatives.
  • Manage inventory control, including stock replenishment, expiration tracking, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals in home infusion settings.
  • Support pharmacy operations by entering data into electronic health records (EHR), preparing medication labels, and assisting with medication reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery and optimal patient outcomes in acute care or hospital settings.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; active state registration or licensure as required.
  • Proven pharmacy technician experience, particularly within home infusion pharmacy or hospital environments.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic techniques used in sterile compounding.
  • Background working with IV infusions is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills focused on patient service and interdisciplinary teamwork.
