Pharmacy Floor Technician – East Berlin, CT

Full‑TimeSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with rotating every‑other‑weekend coverage

Terms: Contract to Hire

Rate: $24.00 per hour

Position Overview

This role supports daily pharmacy operations by preparing medications for final pharmacist verification, maintaining organized work areas, and ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the medication‑filling process. The Pharmacy Floor Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and plays a key part in delivering safe, timely, and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick, label, scan, and prepare finished prescriptions for pharmacist verification.

• Accurately and efficiently fill daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision.

• Process returned medications and manage recycling/disposal according to procedure.

• Prepack frequently used medications, label, and store during low‑volume periods.

• Manually package materials and products as needed.

• Pull medications from shelving, prepack racks, and other storage areas.

• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to ensure accuracy.

• Notify the pharmacist of any medication or product that does not scan properly.

• Maintain and restock assigned workstation areas.

• Follow all applicable regulations, including HIPAA requirements.

• Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.

• Adhere to departmental policies on safety, attendance, and dress code.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to work at a consistent, moderate pace.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Clear and active Connecticut Pharmacy Technician License issued by the CT Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician.
