Pharmacy Technician (Part-Time)
Location: Bowie, MD
Clinic: Lifestream Health Center
Schedule: Approx. 24 hours/week
Role Overview
Lifestream Health Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our in-house pharmacy team. This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialized pain management clinic, focusing primarily on Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Workers' Compensation (WC) patients.
We operate as a cohesive, cross-functional team. While your primary home will be the pharmacy, you are the type of professional who is happy to lend a hand where needed to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.
Compensation & Growth
Competitive Hourly Rate: $25 - $29/hr; Based on experience.
Incentivized Bonus Structure: Performance-based rewards.

Key Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately input, count, label, and dispense medications with supervision.
- Specialized Billing & PAs: Navigate the complexities of PIP and Workers' Comp claims. Manage the end-to-end Prior Authorization process, coordinating between providers and payers to ensure timely medication access.
- Specialty Medication Management: Oversee the handling, documentation, and patient fulfillment requirements for high-cost or high-complexity specialty drugs.
- Patient Interaction: Provide exceptional service to our patients, many of whom are managing chronic pain or recovery from injury.
- Inventory Management: Assist with ordering, stocking, and performing cycle counts to ensure the pharmacy is always prepared.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Maryland Board of Pharmacy regulations and HIPAA privacy standards.
- Team Collaboration: Assist with administrative tasks or clinic flow support during peak times as part of the Lifestream "all-hands" culture.
Requirements
Licensure: Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy (or ability to obtain before start date).
Certification: PTCB or ExCPT certification is highly preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills: Strong mathematical skills for dosage calculations.
Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with PIP/WC billing (a significant plus).
Excellent communication skills and an empathetic "bedside manner."
Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
