Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Columbia, MO

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Summary: As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Completes both Basic Technician and Advanced Technician online training modules from Computer Rx, resulting in basic Computer RX knowledge.
- Provide great customer service, ensuring each and all customers are, at a minimum, satisfied with the pharmacy service.
- Answer telephone and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist's expertise or judgement.
- Receive new prescriptions from prescribers or telephoned refill requests.
- Gather necessary information to prepare prescriptions.
- Record information needed before prescriptions can be dispensed.
- Store written prescription forms after prescriptions are dispensed.
- Enter data into the computer.
- Help pharmacists prepare prescriptions by counting or pouring medications, labeling containers, and pricing prescriptions.
- Keep pharmacy department supplies (e.g. bottles, bags, receipts, staples, etc.) well stocked.
- Place completed prescriptions in the pick-up area.
- Order, check-in, and stock the pharmacy department shelves with medications when they arrive from suppliers.
- Prepare insurance claims and verify payments.
- Help patients find over-the-counter medications.
- Keep HIPAA updated and register new customers.
- Ring purchases on cash registers and record them in logs when necessary.
- Perform housekeeping duties within the pharmacy department.
- Make deliveries to clients and accept payments when necessary
- Participate in and contribute to various staff development activities of the system.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing with appropriate board of pharmacy and/or application submitted
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients
- Detail orientated
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record and abuse/neglect.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
- All training requirements including Relias Learning at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
- Clear TB/CDSif required by program
- First Aid certification and CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal dateif required by program.

- Physical: moving, walking, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
- Mental: forecasting, analyzing, synthesizing, explaining, adapting, comprehending, interpreting data, organizational skills, public speaking, conflict resolution, active listening skills, and flexibility.
