Position: Pharmacy Technician I
Location: Bozeman Clinic
Type: Full-Time, 40 hrs/week
Wage: $20.05- $21.12 +$3.50 locality
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant is a clinical One Health employee providing supportive tasks for the organization and/or department(s). Under the direction of assigned One Health management, the assistant supports in maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow and/or work product in a specialty area.
The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications and other pharmaceuticals to patients, healthcare providers and customers. Performs administrative duties, including answering phones, operating cash registers, and restocking inventory.

Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains functionality of organization and/or department by managing tasks and information to optimize processes.
- Responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the organization and/or department.
- Serves as one of the first points of contact for patients, vendors, and employees.
- Collaborates and communicates within teams, supports others, and contributes positively to the overall success of the organization.
Position Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Facets of Prescription Preparation
- Assist in outpatient prescription preparation and dispensing under the guidance of pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians, in order to learn the proper workflows, laws, and standard of pharmacy practice. Reads and interprets providers' orders received in the pharmacy and enters in the pharmacy software. To include Durable Medical Equipment (DME) prescriptions
- Work is verified by a licensed pharmacist.
- Uses electronic medical record to access necessary patient information and assist in keeping patient profiles current
Medication Inventory Management
- Assists in maintaining a cost-effective pharmacy inventory.
- Assist with all functions related to ordering medications and supplies. Includes
receiving in orders, putting orders away and appropriately filing associated paperwork.
- Helps maintain and stock medication in the pharmacy and clinic departments. Ensuring medications are checked and removed if outdated.
- Participates in a total Pharmacy inventory at the end of the fiscal year.
Pharmacy Operations
- Assists in keeping policy and procedures current in relations to pharmacy tech duties.
- Assists in filing appropriate records such as invoices, Rx hard copies, recall notifications, etc.
- Performs insurance reconciliation on a weekly basis.
- Participates in the Pharmacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program. Maintains standards of pharmacy practice equal to or above those accepted by professional ethics, and federal/state regulatory agencies.

- Complies with HIPAA guidelines.
- Adheres to all One Health Policies and Procedures.
- Participates in performance optimization and risk management activities as required.
- Cooperates and abides by all elements of One Health's Compliance Program.
- Provides exceptional customer service and models the mission of One Health when interacting with internal and external stakeholders promoting a positive image for the health center.
- Performs other duties as assigned with or without prior notification.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certificates/Licenses:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- State provisional certificated pharmacy technician license in the state the pharmacy is located (acquired within 60 days of hire).
- Acquire State Certified Technician license in the state the pharmacy is located within two (2) years from acquiring State provisional certification pharmacy technician license.
- BLS/CPR certification, within 3 months of hire
- Valid driver's license
Experience:
Required
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Preferred
- Two (2) years of experience in community health care
- Healthcare or related experience
