Job Description

Description: Position Overview/Project Details: This position requires a California-licensed Pharmacy Technician working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The technician will be responsible for the packaging, preparation, and sterile compounding of intravenous medications as well as injectable medications, including chemotherapy and other biohazardous drugs. All duties must be performed in accordance with USP <797> and <800> standards, institutional protocols, and safety guidelines. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: At least 6 months of performing related duties as a pharmacy technician. Need candidates with hospital experience, not retail experience. Licensed pharmacy technician license in good standing with California Board of Pharmacy Minimum Education: High School or equivalent or Post High School vocational/specialized training or Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy Special Qualifications/Certifications Required: N/A DURATION: 3 Months Schedule: M-F 8am-4:30pm FTE Conversion/Extension possibility? Possible, depending on performance and timeline. Interview Type (phone, Teams, in-person, etc.): Phone or Teams Any other information you d like suppliers to know: The technician may spend 5-6 hours a day performing compounding duties in a sterile environment, which requires specific garbing and cleanroom etiquette. The technician should be advised that he or she will be working with hazardous medications under the protection of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. gowns, masks, gloves, etc.) per institution protocol.
