Job Summary
Reporting to Enterprise Pharmacy Business Procurement Manager Specialist, the Inventory Specialist is responsible for receiving all non-controlled pharmaceuticals and pharmacy supplies. The scope of the Inventory Control Specialist receiving responsibilities include the direct replenishment of the 340B cost centers. Additionally, the Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for charging and coordinating delivery of all special orders and perform multiple inventory functions. These inventory functions are vital to the Supply Chain performing efficiently (stocking medications, returns to wholesalers, etc.). The Inventory Control Specialist must be able to pass both licensure and area specific competences. Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesQualifications
EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent requiredLicenses and Credentials
- Pharmacy Technician [State License] - Pharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT] required
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
Experience
- Hospital-related experience, formal training, or certification from a pharmacy technician training program 2-3 years preferred
- 1-2 years experience in supply chain strongly preferred
- 2-3 years experience in pharmacy supply chain strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Shows knowledge of the pharmacology of drugs and the legal aspects of dispensing.
- Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices.
Additional Job Details (if applicable)
- M-F schedule, shifts range from 6 AM-6 PM EST
- Hybrid position, floating between locations in Somerville, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Salem Hospital, and Mass General Hospital - including work-from-home days.
- Compensation rate is based on candidate experience aligned to this role level within the range of $30-35/hr
