Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Flexi/PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA.

Location: Harrisonburg, VA- Sentara RMH

Status: Flexi/PRN

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends: Every 4th Weekend

Holiday Rotation

• Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.

Learn more

Registered Pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice. Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner

• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care

• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed

• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information

• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements

• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

• Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program and certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire is required

• Must register as a pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice

• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program

Certification/Licensure

• Certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire in the state of practice is required

Experience

• Previous Pharmacy Experience (preferred)
