Photography Supervisor

M&M Photography has been serving families, schools, and sports organizations throughout the Pittsburgh region for over 40 years. We are seeking an experienced Photography Supervisor to join our team.
Position Summary
As a key member of our leadership team, you will lead photo day operations, oversee photography staff, manage client relationships, and help drive the continued growth and success of the company. While photography is the primary focus of this role, we are looking for someone who can contribute beyond the camera. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills are essential. Experience in graphic design, marketing, content creation, or business development is highly valued and may lead to expanded responsibilities within the company.
Salary Range $50,000-70,000.
FLSA status: Full Time Exempt.
Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, leadership ability, client relations experience, and additional creative or business skills.
Responsibilities
-Lead school, preschool, and sports photography events
-Photograph children from infancy through high school
-Create a fun and positive experience for children and families
-Build and maintain relationships with schools, sports organizations, and studio clients
-Assist with scheduling, event planning, and client communications
-Train and support photographers and assistants
-Ensure consistent quality and adherence to company standards
-Travel to local schools, childcare centers, and sports facilities
Qualifications
-Professional photography experience working with children required
-School, preschool, sports, or volume photography experience preferred
-Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
-Experience with camera settings, lighting, and composition
-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
-Ability to work independently and represent the company professionally
-Ability to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, and work actively with young children throughout the day
What We Mean by Volume Photography
Volume photography involves photographing a high number of subjects efficiently within a structured workflow, including schools, preschools, sports leagues, dance programs, and high-volume studio events. Successful candidates are comfortable photographing 100+ children in a day while maintaining exceptional customer experience, consistent image quality, strong workflow management, efficient pacing, and positive interactions with children and staff.
Preferred Skills
-Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
-Graphic design or marketing experience
-Social media content creation
-Client account management experience
-Leadership or supervisory experience
Schedule
Based from our Bethel Park studio. Hours of operation are 8:30AM-5:00pm.
Local travel required throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Weekday mornings, with seasonal evening and weekend availability.
Open Availability during peak months (August, September, October, April, and May) is essential and required.
