Job Description

Physical Therapist – Injury Prevention Services

Location: Lima, Ohio

Position Summary

Ramp Health is seeking a motivated and engaging Physical Therapist (PT) to provide onsite injury prevention and musculoskeletal health services for employees at a client location in Lima, Ohio.

This is a unique opportunity for a Physical Therapist interested in applying their clinical expertise outside of a traditional outpatient setting. The Physical Therapist will work directly with employees in an industrial workplace to help identify musculoskeletal concerns early, promote safe movement and body mechanics, reduce injury risk, and support a healthier and safer workforce.

The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, comfortable working independently, and enjoys engaging employees directly in their work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite injury prevention and musculoskeletal health services within the Physical Therapist’s scope of practice.
  • Engage employees proactively throughout the workplace to build relationships, increase program awareness, and encourage early reporting of discomfort or musculoskeletal concerns.
  • Assess musculoskeletal complaints and functional movement concerns and provide appropriate education, recommendations, and guidance within established protocols and scope of practice.
  • Provide early intervention strategies designed to address discomfort and reduce the risk of progression to more significant musculoskeletal concerns.
  • Educate employees on proper body mechanics, posture, movement patterns, lifting techniques, and other injury prevention strategies.
  • Conduct job-specific movement observations and identify opportunities to improve ergonomics, positioning, and work practices.
  • Lead or support stretching, mobility, warm-up, and movement programs based on employee and workplace needs.
  • Provide individualized education related to flexibility, mobility, strength, conditioning, and safe movement.
  • Collaborate with employees, safety professionals, occupational health resources, and site leadership to support workplace health and injury prevention initiatives.
  • Recognize concerns requiring additional medical evaluation and follow established referral and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct follow-up with employees as appropriate to monitor progress and reinforce recommended strategies.
  • Support health and safety campaigns, educational programs, group activities, and other onsite engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of employee interactions and services in accordance with Ramp Health standards, client requirements, and applicable privacy regulations.
  • Identify trends in musculoskeletal concerns, body regions, work activities, and injury risks that may help inform broader prevention strategies.
  • Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and program quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the State of Ohio, or eligibility to obtain appropriate Ohio licensure prior to providing services.
  • Current CPR/AED certification preferred.
  • Experience in occupational health, industrial rehabilitation, ergonomics, sports medicine, outpatient orthopedics, or musculoskeletal injury prevention preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal assessment, functional movement, body mechanics, and injury prevention.
  • Ability to recognize when an employee’s condition requires referral or escalation for additional medical evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Comfortable working independently in an onsite industrial environment.
  • Proactive approach to employee engagement; willingness to spend time in work areas interacting directly with employees rather than waiting for employees to seek services.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including safety, occupational health, operations, and Ramp Health leadership.

What Makes This Role Unique

This position offers Physical Therapists an opportunity to use their clinical and musculoskeletal expertise in a proactive injury prevention model rather than a traditional clinic-based environment.

Instead of managing a traditional patient caseload, the Physical Therapist works directly within the employee population to identify concerns earlier, provide practical education and intervention, promote healthier movement, and help prevent minor discomfort from developing into more significant issues.

The role provides an opportunity to:

  • Build meaningful relationships with employees over time.
  • Focus on prevention and early intervention.
  • Apply musculoskeletal expertise directly in the workplace.
  • Gain experience in occupational health and industrial injury prevention.
  • Work collaboratively with safety and workplace health teams.
  • Make a measurable impact on employee health, safety, and well-being.

About Ramp Health

Ramp Health provides comprehensive health, wellness, and injury prevention services designed to meet employees where they are.
