Physical Therapist (Direct Hire)
Role Summary
Lead a transformative patient journey as a Physical Therapist in a dynamic, primarily hospital-based outpatient setting. In this role, you will be the clinical architect for patients across the lifespan—from juveniles to geriatrics—conducting comprehensive evaluations and designing evidence-based treatment plans. You will manage a diverse caseload involving total joint replacements, musculoskeletal pain, and neurological conditions (TBI, Stroke, Parkinson's). By combining skilled interventions with compassionate education, you will empower patients to overcome functional limitations and achieve their highest level of independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Evaluation & Treatment: Perform skilled assessments of functional mobility, motor function, muscular strength, sensation, and balance.
Plan of Care Development: Create individualized, measurable plans of care that respect the psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of every patient.
Skilled Intervention: Deliver therapeutic treatments for ambulation, wound care, and environmental safety needs.
Interdisciplinary Leadership: Consult and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic treatment and determine the need for additional specialty referrals.
Patient & Family Education: Facilitate comprehensive training for patients and caregivers to ensure safe transitions and long-term success post-discharge.
Discharge Planning: Develop transition strategies that include assistive device recommendations and community resource referrals.
Documentation: Maintain precise, timely records in compliance with APTA guidelines and professional reimbursement standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited Master’s or Doctorate-level Physical Therapy program.
Licensure: Eligible for current licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board.
Certifications: Current BLS required before employment begins.
Experience: 1+ year of outpatient experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcomed and encouraged to apply.
Physical Aptitude: Must be able to safely transfer an average adult patient (approx. 150 lbs).

Clinical Versatility: Comfort managing both musculoskeletal and neurological diagnoses across all age groups.
Independence: Ability to efficiently schedule and perform patient care independently while leading a team that includes two PTAs.

Location: Artesia, NM
Work Setting: Hospital-Based Outpatient (with occasional flex to Inpatient Rehab)
Work Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Weekend/Holiday: Weekend rotation (1 every 5 weeks) covering inpatient units; shared holiday rotation.
