Physical Therapy Assistant

The Physical Therapy Assistant I is responsible to the Department Director and supervising Physical Therapist, to provide treatment to the patient prescribed by the physician within the guidelines of the Physical Therapy Practice Act, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position implements the plan of care to restore and enhance performance. This position also performs documentation and quality improvement, as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Patient Care Implements components of established care plan utilizing clinical techniques and amassed skill to provide treatment.
• Patient Evaluation Critically observes patients during treatment to assess patient's tolerance and response.
• Treatment Plans Adapts plan of care to attain desired functional outcome with therapists' input/awareness.
• Patient Education Instructs and educates patients and families in appropriate exercise and self-care management.
• Area Maintenance Maintains work area. Checks and stores equipment after use.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required Associate's Degree
• 1 year Physical Therapy Preferred
• Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - .
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
