About the Facility – Evans Army Community Hospital
Evans Army Community Hospital is a state-of-the-art military medical center serving the Fort Carson community, including active-duty service members, retirees, and their families. As part of the Defense Health Agency, Evans ACH delivers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care across a wide range of specialties including primary care, surgery, radiology, gastroenterology, physical therapy, behavioral health, and women’s services. The facility is committed to delivering the highest standard of patient-centered care and offers healthcare professionals a rewarding opportunity to serve those who serve our country.

Responsibilities
- Carry out corrective exercise and treatment programs as directed by the supervising physical therapist
- Administer treatments including exercise, gait training, massage, whirlpool, hot packs, diathermy, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs, and traction
- Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in functional activities such as pre-ambulation, transfers, ambulation, and daily-living activities
- Fit, adjust, and train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs
- Observe patients during treatment; compile and evaluate data on responses to treatment and progress
- Measure range-of-joint motion, body part length/girth, and vital signs to track treatment effects
- Coordinate with physical therapy staff and interdisciplinary healthcare teams for care planning
- Perform administrative duties including inventory, supply ordering, patient scheduling, and encounter coding
- Maintain department equipment, records, and files in accordance with facility policies
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Experience: Minimum 12 months of experience within the last 36 months as a physical therapy assistant.
- Certifications: BLS required.
- Licensure: N/A (non-credentialed position).
- U.S. Citizenship required
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts between 0630–1600. 30–60 minute uncompensated lunch.
