Job Description
- Caseload includes children and young adults aged 0 to 21 years in an outpatient clinic and long-term care facility.
- Provides goal-directed and activity-oriented intervention to promote functional mobility with an emphasis on facilitating independence, health, wellness, and enhanced quality of life.
- Builds and maintains rapport with family members and provides caregiver education as needed.
- Communicates and collaborates with team members about physical therapy services.
- Completes professional documentation according to facility policies and procedures.
- Enters appropriate billing for client services into electronic medical system.
- Maintains treatment environment and supplies to support physical therapy services.
- Develops, writes, and instructs clients and families in therapy home programs.
- Assists in orientation and training of other staff members.
- Assists in projects related to development of clinical programs and/or accomplishment of department goals.
- Current and valid CA PTA license
- Experience with pediatric population is highly preferred but not required
- Ability to meet deadlines; detailed and task-oriented
- Comfort participating as part of an interdisciplinary medical team
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required
- Good time management
- 20 hours/week with the opportunity for additional hours as caseload grows
- Hours may be split into 4- to 8-hour days
