Position Summary: The Physical Therapy Assistant, LPTA provides direct therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to support patient mobility, strength, and functional recovery. This role delivers safe, effective treatment programs across outpatient, acute inpatient, and inpatient rehabilitation settings in alignment with established plans of care. Working closely with the supervising therapist and the broader rehabilitation team, the Physical Therapy Assistant reinforces exercise techniques, monitors patient responses, and maintains clear, timely communication to support high-quality patient outcomes. Through dependable teamwork, attention to detail, and patient-focused care, this position also contributes to efficient departmental workflows and a positive therapy experience for patients. Key Responsibilities: Perform delegated physical therapy interventions, therapeutic exercises, and mobility activities in alignment with the supervising Physical Therapist's plan of care. Monitor patient performance and tolerance during treatment sessions and promptly communicate changes, concerns, or progress to the supervising therapist. Provide instruction and reinforcement to patients and families on safe mobility techniques, home exercise programs, and use of assistive devices. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments, patient responses, and relevant clinical information in accordance with Trinity Health standards. Prepare, clean, and organize therapy equipment and treatment areas to support safety and operational readiness across multiple care settings. Collaborate with therapy staff, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care delivery.
