- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and counsel patients on laboratory, radiology, emergency, and specialist results
- Address acute concerns through the sick call process and respond to urgent and emergent presentations
- Educate patients on disease processes and therapy, support accurate medical records, and develop individualized treatment plans including non-pharmacologic interventions
- Communicate effectively with mental health, medical, and security staff, and coordinate with outside professionals for continuity of care
Required Qualifications
- PA: graduation from an ARC-PA accredited program and current NCCPA certification; or NP: MSN or DNP from an accredited program with national board certification (ANCC or AANP)
- Active licensure in the U.S. Virgin Islands, or active U.S. licensure with eligibility for Virgin Islands licensure (CLFC supports the application; VI licensure must be completed before start)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or correctional medicine

- Correctional, detention, or institutional medicine experience
- Emergency or urgent care background with independent triage judgment
- Chronic care program experience following national clinical guidelines
- ACLS certification
- Existing ties to the U.S. Virgin Islands or Caribbean region
