Summit Orthopedic Specialists is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to join our growing practice specializing in knees, hips, and shoulders.
Position Overview: The Physician Assistant will play a key role in delivering high-quality orthopedic care in both clinic and surgical settings. This position offers a balance of independent patient care and close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons.- Average of 25–30 patient visits per day in clinic - Primarily clinic-based during the first year, with the opportunity to expand into surgical assistance - Collaborative, team-based care model with strong clinical supportKey Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive orthopedic patient evaluations and follow-up visits- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and tests- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians- Perform procedures including injections, wound care, and bracing- Provide patient education on treatment plans and recovery expectations- Assist in surgery and provide perioperative support (as role progresses)- Perform hospital rounds and patient assessments- Respond to after-hours patient inquiries and clinical questions- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation- Participate in monthly provider and leadership meetings to support care coordination and practice improvement effortsCompensation & Benefits:- Competitive salary (generally ranging from approximately $130,000–$165,000 based on experience and progression)- Production bonus opportunities tied to team-based performance- Paid Time Off (PTO) including vacation and sick time, with growth based on tenure- $500/month employer contribution toward medical insurance- 401(k) eligibility after one year- CME allowance: up to $2,000 annually + paid CME time- Professional expenses covered (licensure, malpractice, certifications)- Monthly cell phone stipend- Additional benefits including, but not limited to, dental, vision, and life insuranceQualifications:- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program- Eligible for or currently holding California PA licensure- Strong interest in orthopedics- Excellent communication and teamwork skills- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment- A positive, team-first mindset, and willingness to actively contribute to a supportive and engaged workplace cultureWhy Summit?
