Physician - Regional Newborn Hospitalist, Corewell Health - West (Casual)

Job Summary

The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients.

Essential Functions

• Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
• Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
• Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
• Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
• Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
• Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
• Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient / family advocate.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development / application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
• Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

• Required Doctorate

LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO)- STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or LIC-Physician (MD)- STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required CRT-DEA Registration- STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)- AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)- ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS)- AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
