Job Description

The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, in Fort Smith, AR, is seeking a full-time Physician- Psychiatrist . Ideal candidate is Board Eligible/Certified in Psychiatry

We are fully committed to providing top quality medical care by serving and honoring America‘s Veterans.

Candidates must possess an MD/DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training leading to board eligibility/certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State.

Highlights of this opportunity:

  • Potential starting base salary range: $275-$300K

  • Daily schedule, Monday-Friday, may include nights, weekends and on-call. Schedule to be discussed during interview.

  • Assessment/evaluation and medication management of veterans who suffer from a variety of mental health conditions, including, but not limited to Post traumatic Stress Disorder, substance abuse, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, and other related conditions.

  • Educate staff hospital wide about psychiatric needs of patients; how to handle; what to expect; etc..

  • Work with families of patients receiving psychiatric care
