Job Description

Schedule:Approximately 400 hours annually. Services are generally performed one (1) or two (2) days per week based on a mutually agreed schedule with the Pine Ridge Job Corps Center.

Summary:

The Medical Provider is responsible for delivering comprehensive primary healthcare services to students enrolled at the Pine Ridge Job Corps Center. Services include conducting medical examinations and assessments, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, prescribing medications, administering immunizations, monitoring chronic health conditions, recommending hospitalization when medically necessary, providing follow-up care, and promoting preventive health practices. The Medical Provider works collaboratively with Center staff to support student wellness while maintaining compliance with all applicable Federal regulations, Nebraska licensing requirements, and Job Corps policies.

Requirements:

  • Active, unrestricted Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant license authorized to practice in the State of Nebraska.
  • Current Nebraska prescribing authority, when applicable.
  • Active DEA registration, when applicable.
  • Current professional liability insurance meeting contract requirements.
  • Ability to perform medical examinations, assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care within the authorized scope of practice.
  • Knowledge of primary care, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and occupational/student health practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, healthcare professionals, and Center personnel.
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records while protecting confidential health information.
  • Ability to successfully complete credentialing and meet all contract requirements before beginning performance.

Duties:

  • Perform comprehensive medical examinations and health assessments for Job Corps students.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries within the authorized scope of practice.
  • Monitor and manage chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe, renew, and manage medications in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Administer or authorize required immunizations.
  • Recommend hospitalization or emergency medical treatment when clinically appropriate.
  • Provide follow-up evaluations after treatment, referrals, or hospitalization.
  • Develop preventive healthcare recommendations and educate students on health and wellness practices.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists, hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Review medical histories, laboratory results, and diagnostic information to support appropriate clinical decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation in accordance with Center procedures.
  • Utilize the Center's electronic prescription system and paper medical records as required.
  • Coordinate medical services with designated Center personnel to support student health and program participation.
  • Participate in required meetings and communicate effectively with the Contracting Officer's Representative, Health and Wellness staff, and other authorized Government representatives.
  • Maintain all required professional licenses, certifications, prescribing authority, and insurance throughout the period of performance.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Federal regulations, Nebraska law, Job Corps policies, and the requirements of the Statement of Work.
