Opportunity:

Physician - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

12-month assignment with APP support provided
Client is open to two providers alternating weeks, but strongly prefers one consistent provider
Virtual interviews with service line leadership and OR team to address procedural scope, call expectations, and workflow questions
EMR system: Meditech
Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Shared call structure with offsite response required within 30 minutes for emergency consultations and 12 hours for routine calls
After-hours call frequency: 1-2 times per week, most commonly for active bleeds
Average of 12-14 procedures per day
General GI procedures include Upper Endoscopies (EGD) and Colonoscopies
Advanced procedures include ERCP at mid-level/moderate complexity
Specialty procedures include esophageal, duodenal, and luminal stent placement, argon plasma coagulation, biopsies of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon, colonoscopy with or without polypectomy, diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, enteral alimentation, esophageal dilation, foreign body removal via EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy, GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring, non-variceal hemostasis (upper and lower), and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)
Patient population is complex and often non-compliant; providers with strong relationship-building and communication skills are highly preferred
