How you'll contribute

A Physician Services Director who excels in this role:

  • Directs departmental activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the organization's clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements and objectives.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technology, service-level management, and complaint resolution, to achieve performance and quality objectives.
  • Manages the work of others by planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orientation, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets and ensures the department operates within allocated funding.
  • Coordinates and directs internal and external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development.
  • Ensures the department remains focused on its important role within the continuum of care.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Serves internal colleagues and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Accesses and works with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, and applies policies and procedures effectively.
  • Maintains knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Business Mathematics Skills- Demonstrates the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computes rates, ratios, percentages and interprets graphs.
  • Moderate Computer Skills- Demonstrates proficiency with email, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, and other business applications. Creates, maintains, and incorporates basic functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
  • Complex Communication- Effectively communicates complex information and interacts with all levels of management. Presents information clearly, resolves and addresses sensitive situations, and motivates and persuades others.
  • Varied Business Problems- Analyzes and resolves varied and complex problems requiring interpretation of situations and the application of knowledge, skills, established practices, and general precedents.
  • Department-Specific Decision-Making- Makes decisions that impact the management and operations of the department and may contribute to broader business and operational decisions affecting the department.
  • Functional Independent Judgment- Establishes goals and priorities for the functional area. Makes recommendations regarding departmental policies, practices, and programs and independently makes decisions and resolves problems for others.
  • Project Planning and Organization- Manages multiple projects simultaneously, including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.
