Job Description
JOB SUMMARY The Picker/Packer is responsible for constructing boxes and packing products in a fast-paced, metrics-driven warehouse environment. This role requires standing for entire shifts near heavy machinery in a large, loud facility where temperature conditions are subject to seasonal weather. The position involves teamwork and a commitment to working weekends and holidays as needed to ensure smooth facility operations. Key Responsibilities • Construct boxes and pack products, either manually or with the help of automated machines. • Maintain accurate order picking, packing, and inventory records. • Perform frequent quality checks, such as ensuring labels are correct. • Rotate codes according to the product rotation schedule. • Make, fold, close, and stack cartons on a pallet for transfer. • Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Clean and sanitize lines during product changeovers. • Assist in setting up lines during changeovers, which may include placing stickers, wiping down machines, and making minor adjustments. • Push waste totes from the production area to a compactor and return them. • Rework products that do not meet quality standards. • Review the daily production schedule to plan for shift requirements. Required Qualifications • Ability to work on weekends, holidays, and off-shifts. • Willingness to work overtime. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation. • Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation. • Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to wear required safety attire, including a hairnet, safety glasses, and/or a bump cap. • Must wear steel-toe boots to enter the facility. Education: High School or equivalent
