Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist pipefitters with the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems according to specifications and blueprints.
- Transport and organize materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site, ensuring they are readily available for use.
- Prepare work areas by cleaning and organizing spaces, removing debris, and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Perform basic pipefitting tasks under the supervision of experienced pipefitters, including cutting, threading, and assembling pipes.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety meetings.
- Clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment properly to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the project.
Education Requirements/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and gain experience in pipefitting is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Job Requirements/Special Skills:
- Basic understanding of construction practices and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of various pipefitting techniques and tools.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects
- Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
