Duties
Provide design output documentation to support major facility modifications. and Project Engineering. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in ASME B31.3 Process Piping Design .
Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable. Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.
Education
Requires an ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
Level 4- BA/BS degree plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience required, or an MA or MS with 7 or more years of relevant professional experience or a Doctorate with 4 or more years of relevant professional experience
Level 5- BA/BS degree plus 15 or more years of relevant professional experience required, or an MA or MS with 12 or more years of relevant professional experience or a Doctorate with 10 or more years of relevant professional experience
Work Environment / Physical Demands:Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
Due to government and/or federal regulations for this position, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
