Personnel Security Specialist Location: MacDill AFB, FL Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) required Customer: Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE) Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site (Telework as authorized by COR) Position Overview The Personnel Security Specialist provides mission-essential Personnel Security (PERSEC) support to the Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE). This role supports the administration, execution, and oversight of personnel security programs in accordance with DoD, Joint Staff, and JCSE policies to ensure protection of classified and sensitive information in support of global C5ISR operations. Primary Responsibilities Administer and support JCSE Personnel Security (PERSEC) and security education awareness programs in compliance with DoD 5200.02, NISPOM, and applicable service regulations. Conduct in-processing and out-processing of assigned and attached personnel, including execution of SF-312, clearance verification, access determinations, and security indoctrinations. Screen, validate, and process personnel security investigation (PSI) requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness of required documentation prior to submission. Review, revise, classify, and post security-related documentation to government SharePoint portals, ensuring proper security markings and controlled dissemination. Respond to daily customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person regarding clearance status, access requirements, security policy interpretation, and issue resolution. Verify eligibility and determine appropriate clearance levels, position sensitivity designations, and special access requirements. Coordinate issuance of permanent, temporary, and visitor access badges and submit base access requests in accordance with installation security procedures. Maintain accountability and safeguarding of classified and sensitive information to prevent unauthorized disclosure or compromise. Prepare and submit required Monthly Activity Reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) by established deadlines. Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews related to personnel security functions. Required Qualifications Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for SCI. U.S. Citizenship required. Demonstrated experience supporting DoD Personnel Security programs. Working knowledge of: DoD 5200.02-R (Personnel Security Program) National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) AR 380-67 and related DoD security directives Experience processing clearance actions using DISS and supporting CAC issuance processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint portals. Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting Joint, Combatant Command, or COCOM environments. Familiarity with MP ICAM, RAPIDS, and installation access control procedures. Experience supporting audits, inspections, or compliance reviews. Work Environment On-site support at JCSE facilities, MacDill AFB, FL. Core hours: 0700-1700, Monday-Friday (excluding federal holidays). Telework may be authorized on a situational or ad hoc basis at Government discretion. Compliance & Training Requirements Completion of AT Level I, OPSEC, TARP, and IA Awareness training as required. Compliance with all JCSE, DoD, and installation security policies and procedures.
