Job Description

The Plumber III performs skilled plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance work at casino facilities. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Install, remodel, repair, and maintain a variety of plumbing fixtures and equipment, such as valves, control devices, pumps, boilers, sinks, toilets, faucets, water, and sewer lines.

  2. Clear stoppages and repair breaks or leaks in water, and sewer lines or other pipes.

  3. Cut and thread pipes.

  4. Fit and sweat copper pipe.

  5. Repair heating systems and water heaters.

  6. Repair and replace various types of controls, thermometers, gauges.

  7. Operate various power tools, including jackhammers, power washer, drill motors, power snakes, power water jets, and torches for soldering, and operates pipe machine for threading and cutting pipe.

  8. Install, repair, and maintain swimming pool equipment, including pumps and electronic sensors to control chemicals in pools.

  9. Keep records of time and materials.

  10. Work overtime to make emergency repairs.

  11. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.

  12. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.

  13. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

  14. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.

  15. Attend all necessary meetings.

  16. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.

  2. High school diploma or equivalent required.

  3. Must have completed an apprentice program and retain a Journeyman Plumbers License from an appropriate jurisdiction or have demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience.

  4. Minimum of ten (10) years of previous hands-on plumbing experience and Commercial plumbing experience required. Must have knowledge of state and local plumbing codes.

  5. Previous customer service experience preferred.

  6. Occasional travel is required.

  7. Must have the computer experience to be trained to use the various systems to order various parts for inventory and repairs.

  8. Must have the abilities to read as built and construction blue prints.

  9. Must have the ability to prioritize work assignments and pre maintenance issues while communicating this to the other plumbing co-workers.

  10. Must have proven ability to act as a lead Plumber and mentor other Plumbers.

  11. Must have the ability to be trained and certified in back flow inspection and certification.

  12. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.

  1. Must possess excellent communication skills.

  2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.

  3. Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.

  4. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.

  5. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

  1. Adequate manual dexterity to operate standard tools of the trade.

  2. Performs strenuous work requiring considerable arm pressure to turn wrenches and run snake through drains.

  3. Must be able to carry, set up, climb and descend ladders.

  4. Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and crawl through tight spaces of the casino.

  5. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds of equipment

  6. Occasional travel required.

  7. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.

Salary Starting Rate:

$32.00

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.

Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
