Job Description
Your Role
- Performing plumbing and fire protection design for a variety of projects, including but not limited to buildings and facilities (hospitals, laboratories, high-rise residential, hotel, office, and other commercial and institutional projects)
- Incorporating design changes using Revit and/or AutoCAD software
- Performing system calculations, pipe sizing, fixture selections, sprinkler selection and placement, and equipment sizing
- Meeting project schedules and performing work within budgetary constraints
- Attending meetings with architects, owners, and building managers to discuss future or current projects
- Reviewing submittals and providing responses to Requests for Information
- Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards
- Pursuing continuous professional development and maintaining a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Four to 10 years of experience in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, high-rise residential, hotel, and office buildings, and other commercial, institutional facilities.
- Experience in medical gas systems design is a plus.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD software
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
- Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment
- PE registration is highly preferred, or FE with the ability to obtain a PE
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
