Emplify Health by Gundersen is looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to join our lab team as a Point of Care Coordinator! The team consists of one technical lab leader and two coordinators.

What You'll Do:

As a Point of Care Coordinator (POCC), you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating all the laboratory tests performed in the patient care areas by non-lab personnel. The POCC ensures all users are trained on POC tests and ensures that all standards of the regulatory agency are met and certification is maintained. While working primarily with provider and nursing staff at our La Crosse campus you will also help remotely for all Gundersen affiliates and clinics. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Lab Administrative Director, Supervisor and Point of Care Testing Committee on system wide POCT issues including assessing new requests for Point of Care tests/instrumentation, connectivity, policy/procedure changes and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in POCT device selection and validation, ensuring that precision and accuracy standards are met. Monitor monthly QC data to verify that precision and accuracy are maintained as patient testing occurs

  • Maintain and monitor record keeping systems; overseeing the entire POCT Quality Control (QC) program; review patient and QC results for technical and clerical problems

  • Develop and maintain procedures for Point of Care Testing

What's Available:

  • Fulltime, 72 hours biweekly (0.9 FTE)

  • 8hr day shifts, Mon-Fri (7:30a-4p or 8a-4:30p), no weekends or holidays

  • May need to adjust later or earlier certain days to meet department operators for training

  • Starting pay of $25.38 and up, based on your years of experience

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a biological science

  • 2 years laboratory experience, including previous Point of Care Testing experience required

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
