Performs diagnostic sleep studies related to the evaluation and treatment of patients with sleep disorders.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic TechnologistsAND18 monthsSleep Lab experience
OR
Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) through American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)AND18monthsSleep Lab experience
OR
Respiratory therapist licensure as required by the state in which services will be provided:
WV: Licensed Respiratory Therapist Registered (LRTR)or Licensed Respiratory TherapistCertified (LRTC)through the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care ANDOne (1) year of RespiratoryTherapistexperience
PA: Respiratory Therapist through Pennsylvania State Board of MedicineANDOne (1) year of RespiratoryTherapistexperience
ANDRespiratory Therapist must be certifiedinONEof the following through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC):
Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)
Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Registered Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS)
2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within30 daysof hire date
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1.Associates Degreein an Allied Health Field, or Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program.2.Respiratory License.
3. ACLS Certification
EXPERIENCE:
1. Respiratory Therapist with1-2yearssleep labexperience
2. Hospital patient care work experience

1. Performs sleep studies in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines in the Sleep Evaluation Center, at the bedside and in critical care areas of the hospital.
